September 1, 2010 was just a perfect day.

My husband and I were married by Johnny Lewis (an Ordained Minister) of Santa Fe Balloon Company on a wonderful balloon flight.

In conjunction with Fly Away With Me Weddings, Kat Schilke and Johnny Lewis of Santa Fe Balloon Company did a wonderful job of planning our special day.

The day started with Johnny picking us up at our hotel and driving us to the flight location where we met Kat and Jane Bernard our photographer. We didn't have any family or friends that were able to travel with us (we are an older couple) and Jane and one of Johnny's friends were our witnesses.

Johnny is a wonderful pilot and Kat did a fabulous job planning, my flowers for the bouquet, and the beautiful and tasty cake. She even had a tent to change in and a canopy set up for cake cutting and champagne when we landed. We could not have asked for a more perfect wedding. They are fun and very professional, too.

Jane Bernard Photography also does great creative photos and we loved her as well.

We loved them all so much that we felt like old friends at the end of the day.

My (now) husband and I had taken a ride with Johnny about three years ago. We had always wanted to go on a hot air balloon ride, and my mom provided us with the opportunity for our birthdays. We loved the experience!

Johnny Lewis is an amazing person and seeing his and the team's professionalism instantly made us feel at ease. The ride is breath taking!

Once we got engaged, I began searching for destination weddings and stumbled over the Santa Fe Balloon Company web site again and discovered Come Fly Away With Me Weddings. We knew right away that this was what we wanted to do.

Kat Schilke owns and operates the company in conjunction with Johnny who is also a Baptist Minister, so you are married by your pilot! Kat was such a delight to work with! Everything she provided was superb; she really listened to and exceeded all of my expectations. The flowers in the bouquet, the groom's boutonniere, and our moms' corsages were simply beautiful. She even decorated the balloon and tent in complementing silk flowers.

The cake and champagne were delicious, and we also added meat and fruit trays for snacks.

We also opted for photography with Jane Bernard, and I don't think we could have picked a better photographer! She was sensitive to our requests for family pictures, and she has an amazing eye.

I can't tell you how nice it was not to have a worry in the world on my wedding day!! Everything was taken care of, so I got to enjoy the whole experience.

It's so hard to sum up the whole experience in a short review, but it was all simply perfect! If you are considering a destination wedding or something out of the ordinary or even just a ride in a hot air balloon, I would recommend this experience 100% to everyone!
